Seven surprising things nobody tells you about starting a business

Starting a business is hard work. There's no denying that. But there are also some surprising things that nobody tells you about starting a business. Here are seven of them:

1. You'll need to wear many hats.

As the owner of a small business, you'll be responsible for everything from accounts and marketing to HR and customer service. Be prepared to wear many hats and make sure you’re following all of the legalities involved with running your own business (I’m looking at you, taxes!!)

2. You'll make lots of sacrifices.

Starting a business takes a lot of time, energy, and dedication. You'll have to make lots of sacrifices along the way, including giving up nights and weekends, and giving up time with friends and family or leisure time to get your business off the ground.

3. It's not all about the money.

Sure, making money is important. But it's not the only thing that matters. When you're starting a business, you need to be passionate about what you're doing. Otherwise, it'll be very difficult to succeed if you’re not motivated.

4. You'll have good days and bad days.

There will be times when you feel like you're on top of the world. And there will be other times when you feel like giving up. It's normal! Just remember that the bad days don't last forever.

5. You'll learn a lot... about yourself.

Starting a business is a great way to learn more about yourself. You'll discover your strengths and weaknesses, and how well you handle stress and adversity.

6. It's not always easy, but it's worth it.

Starting a business is tough. But if you stick with it, the rewards can be incredible. The satisfaction of building something from scratch and seeing it grow is unlike anything else.

7. You're not alone.

There are millions of people just like you who are starting businesses. So don't feel alone! There are plenty of resources and support systems out there to help you along the way.

Starting a business is a big undertaking. But if you keep these seven things in mind, you'll be off to a great start!
